Front Office Position

Requirements

  • Minimum one (1) year medical office experience preferred
  • Knowledge of medical insurance and billing
  • Ability to accurately and effectively multi-task in a fast paced environment
  • Possess excellent interpersonal, telephone & written communication skills
  • Computer proficient
  • Detail oriented
  • Dependable
  • Team player-willing to jump in and help others at all times

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Greet and Check-In patients
  • Answer all incoming phone calls, take accurate phone messages and relay them to the proper individual
  • Give patients appropriate forms and instruct them on their completion
  • Verify patient information and ensure its accurate entry into our practice management system
  • Accurately create new patient accounts and prepare patient charts
  • Notify nurse(s) and Provider when patient is ready to be seen
  • Receive walk-in payments, collect copays and other patient balances and provide receipts as required
  • Check patients out, schedule follow-up appointments per Provider’s instructions, and collect time-of-service payments as needed
  • Answer routine inquiries from patients regarding insurance and/or account issues
  • Check superbills for accuracy to ensure claims are able to be filed and processed correctly
  • Review accounts for potential collection problems, past due amounts, and refer them to the Office Manager
  • Perform end-of-day reconsilliation to ensure payments collected balance with payments documented in payment logs and forward appropriate records to billing for posting
  • Perform routine typing and assist with filing and general office functions
  • Maintain master appointment schedule daily
  • Monitor and maintain appointment confirmation software
  • Maintain waiting room, including neatness of magazines, plants, etc.
  • Responsible for maintaining phone system, forwarding calls to day/night/holiday modes
  • Order office supplies and maintain proper inventory control
  • Perform light janitorial duty
  • Train other employees on reception as needed
  • Perform other duties as required

Medical Assistant

Requirements

  • Two (2) years medical assisting experience OR medical assisting certification required.
  • Able to assist doctor with procedures and charting
  • Knowledgeable of dermatological diseases and medicines or willingness and ability to learn
  • Able to communicate with patients and co-workers in a professional yet friendly manor
